The Jan Karlsgården Christmas Market in Sund is the oldest and largest Christmas market in Åland. The market abounds in local crafts, bread, jam, juice, fish, handmade candles and much more!
Give your wish list to an elf, enjoy the songs of the Lucia choir and learn about the Christmas celebrations of bygone days.
When you are finished, go for a meal at the Smakbyn restaurant or visit the Kastelholm Castle and Vita Björn prison museum.
There is bus transportation from the city.

Little Christmas in Grelsby

Johannas hembakta is a small, authentic stone oven bakery and café in Grelsby. Here, sourdough bread is baked from local, organic flour from Överängs Kvarn, as well as buns and cakes made with genuine ingredients and a lot of passion.
For Christmas, holiday-inspired bread and buns have been baked and the café serves Santa Claus porridge with ham sandwiches made from the traditional wheat bread (hemvete).
Welcome to Rosteriverket to see how coffee is roasted. This winter’s new release “Knäckt” will be in the roaster, a coffee from Brazil roasted on the Åland Islands with a taste of nuts and chocolate.
You can taste our fresh roasted coffee and buy “Knäckt” and our other coffees on the spot.
Christmas market at the Labbas Homestead Museum in Storby

The cosy Christmas market at the Labbas Homestead Museum offers a variety of handicrafts, Christmas food and home-baked goods.
Warm up in the heat of the Labbas wood-burning stove and enjoy homemade refreshments such as home baked goods, mulled wine (glögg), chocolate, books and hand made christmas cards, sold by the homestead association.
Horseback riding for children at 12 – 2 pm and Santa makes a visit at 1-2 pm, bring your wishlist!
Please note that cash payment applies, so feel free to bring small denominations.
Eckerö Post and Customs House

At the Eckerö post and customs house Christmas market, you can buy handicrafts and food products as well as books. Kafé Kalesch serves Christmas porridge and Christmas brunch. Welcome!
Christmas at Thuregården

At Thuregården several eager sellers await your visit. Here you can find beautiful crafts and decorations along with delicious pastries, cakes and home made bread. At the cozy cafe you can enjoy a plate of traditional Christmas porridge.

In the Amalia’s Limonadfabrik rural shop, you can purchase all the products made in the factory.
Their products include the Swedish julmust drink, mulled wine and soft drinks. fine and tasty chocolate products from Mercedes Chocolaterie and home-baked buns and bread from Johanna’s Hembakta. Put the products on the Christmas table or give away as a gift!
If you want you can stay for a warm cup of mulled wine, a coffee and fika in their cozy café.
Åland by Henna travel agency offers horseback riding

Departures at 10 am from Toböle Norrgården.
The tour takes about three hours and includes refreshments and mulled wine. Participants must have experience of riding on terrain and their own indemnity insurance.
